The practice of granting installments over Credit Cards has been terminated and replaced by the option "Minimum Payment". Article 17 of “the Regulation on Bank Cards and Credit Cards” issued in Official Gazette No. 26458 dated 10/3/2007, and “the Regulation regarding “minimum payments” issued in the Official Gazette dated 17 December 2010 have been changed to read as follows:
For credit cards newly issued to customers after 17 December 2010, the minimum rate of payments will be 40% in the period of first year following the date use started. After the expiration of one year, the minimum rate of payments will be set according to the limit. The minimum payment options on the table will be effective for the cards issued before 17 December 2010.
The profit share rate applicable to the minimum payment option is 2.34%, excluding taxes and funds, as from the last date for payment. This rate is quite advantageous vs. rates applied in the market to credit cards.
